Wells 9 Months
Month nine. You have been in this world longer than in my belly. I will say, nine months pregnant felt a lot longer than the nine months you have been with us here ;)
We are finally getting back into routine around here and it feels SO good. I am forming some fun collaborations with work and big things are coming [VERY soon]. Reconnecting with High School and childhood friends has been one of the best parts of this journey. Being a mom can become overwhelming, so having this “outlet” and connection with some amazing women, has brought some pretty awesome balance to my life.
Here are some little facts about Wells:
Sleep: Ugh. We hit a major sleep regression a few weeks ago. Doctor claims it is separation anxiety, but whatever it is, I don’t like it. I have always had good sleepers [I know, poor me]. So this has thrown us for a loop. He goes to bed at 6:30 then wakes around 9:30 / 1 and is up around 6:30 am. I am sure some of you are thinking that I am being dramatic because it is only 2 times, but when he wakes it is bloody murder SCREAMING. Most times a bottle or nuk doesn’t solve it. Essentially it is cry it out or let him crawl around for a few minutes then put him back to bed. Cry it out may seem harsh when dealing with sleep regression, but he only cries it out for 10-15 minutes; which does feel like an hour most times! Naps are going good though. He goes down fine and sleeps for 1 ½ to 2 hours each nap. We are switching between 2-3 naps a day still, depends on his [my] mood.
Eating: Going good! He eats a bottle every time he wakes then breakfast/lunch/dinner in the high chair. We have not done much for finger food [ 3rd baby probs]. However, I can’t wait for bottles to be done. So over washing them….
Weight: He is just shy of 20 lbs!
Mood: I feel like I could have just written what I did for his 6 months’ update. He is overall a happy little thing. He is obsessed with Jack and lights up when he comes into the room. He is still warming up to Savannah ;) His mood does drop fast when he is tired or hungry; must get that from his mom. We go for walks a lot to the park because the stroller is his happy place!
Mama: Not much has changed since the 6 month postpartum update, so I didn’t think it needed its own post. I am still working out 3-4 days a week. Two of those days are at Orange Theory Fitness, and I can’t rave enough about it. My workout buddy [Amy] and I are thinking of hosting a private class there in October, keep your eyes open! I have NEVER been a runner, like never. However, I find myself craving to go for runs at night. The fresh air, blasting music and the view around our development is the best cure for the long day. I am not a marathon runner, all I need is a good 2 miles.
After working with Rebecca from Good For The Swole for the past few months, I can confidently say she has helped me flip my nutrition. I have found a passion for searching out healthier options for some staple “Midwest” meals. Tons of clean and fulfilling snack options to hold me over throughout the day. This has flowed over into my kids eating as well, and I can’t wait to share some new recipes on the blog soon. Never be scared to start swapping out cleaner/healthier options; they will soon become a lifestyle.
I hope you guys have a great rest of your week!!
