Summer Days

Summer Days

Happy FRIDAY!

We have had a jam packed summer over here and I can’t believe it’s already August! There has been many long car rides up north, walks to the “big” park, swimming, and many nights the kiddos have been up past their bedtime.

Finding activities for kids under 4 is actually pretty hard around here; unless it’s a parent/child class [ which it not possible when I have diva Savi]. We did find one camp at a local park Jack did for two weeks… meh it was not worth the money. We then knew he needed to be in something structured, so we signed him up for a summer preschool. He just finished his last week and it has been the best thing for him [and me ;)]. I also have him in T-ball once a week, and that is always entertaining!

My mom mentioned the other day that we need to be writing down all the odd/funny stuff Jack has been saying lately… but I feel like I’d be writing endless lists all day! I am loving the phase he is in right now, and I want him to stop growing up! He knows how to push my buttons that’s for sure, but oh my gosh, he can be the funniest thing in the midst of me yelling at him. The other morning, we were running behind and he needed to eat before preschool. What was he doing? He was in the sport court playing with his [dumb] rescue robots. After screaming for about 5 minutes to get upstairs, I finally threatened him that I would throw all his robots away if he didn’t get moving. He pounded his way up the stairs and stood in the kitchen and said “Mom, you listen to me, FOCUS! I was having fun and you ruined it. Stop your yelling, it’s annoying.”  I mean, I wonder where he could have got all that from ;) But even though he was basically yelling back at me, I couldn’t help but laugh. He always tells me in the car to stop being so “sassy.”

Savannah could use some outside structured time, so we signed her up for one day a week “preschool” starting in September. Bring on the nonstop driving right?! Since she really isn’t in anything this summer she kind of just goes with the flow day to day. Luckily we have a nanny that comes 1-2 days a week so she gets some playtime besides running around in a car all day. As I have said before, Savi is the diva in the house. The other morning, Steve was trying to get her breakfast and of course he doesn’t do it “right.” This made the diva come out and she was screaming and throwing a fit. Two seconds later after Steve got mad, she turns around to Steve and says “Hi Daddy!” with the sweetest little smile. I swear she may be bipolar.

I am not going to lie, I’m not the biggest fan of the heat. I prefer Fall over any season we have here in Minnesota. Once the weather hits 85+ degrees I stay inside, which means I really need to occupy the kiddos. Needless to say, I am ready for Fall! [Bye summer!] Now cue the IPhone photo dump!  HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
