Weekend Recap
For some reason today feels like a Monday. I didn’t want to get out of bed, and I feel like there isn’t enough coffee in the world to save me today. My mom uniform is strong today [Yoga Pants- Comfy Top- Baseball Cap]. Miss Savannah and I are laying low before we have to pick up crazy man from preschool. Here are the kiddos this morning, Jack's waiting for Grandma to pick him up to go to preschool! Notice his shoes on the wrong feet... Strong minded child refuses to switch them.
This past weekend we just took our plans as they came. [Which are the best weekends] Saturday we ventured out to Cabela’s to walk around and see the “dead animals” as Jack calls them. Steve of course got frustrated time to time because all he wanted to do was “shop” but the kids had other plans. The kids and I went upstairs to stuff our face with French fries and cookies while we let dad shop for a bit then headed home. Of course it wouldn’t be a true shopping trip with kids if there wasn’t tears. Jack was heartbroken when Steve wouldn’t buy him a Paw Patrol fishing pole. So what was the first thing we did when we got in the car? “Mom, call Grandma!”- Jack. After talking on the phone with Grandma, Jack was relieved to know Grandma would get him the fishing rod…. Parenting fail. I didn’t want to cook at night, so we made some frozen enchiladas and ended the night with a movie.
Sunday was low key in the morning. Steve had the urge to fish, so we planned on going to church then to my parent’s place on Lake Minnetonka to fish. However, during our morning facetime chat with Grandma she told Jack after church she will take him to Cabela’s to get the darn fishing rod. Which, whatever, Steve and I then took Savannah out to lunch then headed to my parent’s place to wait for Jack to arrive to finally fish. It was actually really nice to just take Savannah out, remembering what life was like with just one kid!! Finally, Jack showed up to fish and what does he have in hand…. Not just one fishing rod, but two! Not only that, he told Grandma he had to have these Ninja Turtle walkie talkies from Target, so they ended up stopping on their way to get them [Spoiled]. Once we got home we had some dinner then got the kids outside for a bit. I had some girlfriends over to make some fun household items with our oils. [I’ll save that for another post ;) ] We even made our way over to Honey & Mackie’s [homemade ice cream and french-fries] OMG it was heaven. If you haven’t tried this place out, you need to go!
I hope you all had a great weekend & hope today doesn’t feel like a Monday for you!
